Does anyone know if a live CD for the new Linux XP is available and where I can get it if it is? Thanks in advance for any information.

Nope. Nothing on their site works. Not in Opera, not in Firefox, not even in IE.

Not even the spell-checker apparently.

This looks more like an elaborate joke than a real distro.

Smile Working torrent

ftp://downloads.linux-xp.com/pub/linux-xp/desktop/2008/international/LXPD-2008-INT-674-i386-DVD.iso.torrent

I do not know if this one is LiveCD, but for sure this is not the Russian version and my Azureus pulls it with 250-260Kb/s as I am typing this post

That just led me to a economic business analogy .pdf
I've used Linux XP 2006, and it wasn't bad. By the looks of 2008, it has improved quite a bit.
Got me interested.

You have to click on buy now in the upper right corner of the website.

Do you mean the "Buy Now" button? That takes you to another page, where you can click on "Download" or "Buy Now" and get the same results.

Nothing.

They both link to http://www.linux-xp.com/get/#, which does nothing. Opera, Firefox, and IE.

Hello!

You have to use the .ru site if you want to download Linux XP Desktop 2008. The site looks the same as the .com but the links are ok only in Cyrillian (Russian) letters. But the buttons are the same as in English so you should get it.

You can use also the following link for download:

ftp://downloads.linux-xp.com/pub/lin...4-i386-DVD.iso

Regards rebe

Thanks rebe,
That seems to work good. I'll have to use somebody else's connection though, that's a big download. I was wondering, is the interface all in Russian? And when you're installing it, are the dialogue boxes in Russian?

PS. I was having the same problems as BlueRidgeMark

If you use the link I posted above it should be the (english)international version. If you followed the link of the russian site you should go up one directory on the FTP-Server and use the "International" instead of "Russian" directory.

I think the developers took the idea of making a Linux distro look like XP, and made sure there were some boot errors. They'll release a service pack in a couple monthd
