Linux Mint GNOME Menu

Hello,

I'm an experienced user of distros like Debian, Ubuntu, and Fedora, and have recently downloaded Linux Mint to take for a test spin. The one thing I don't like is the custom Gnome Menu that resembles the SUSE menu.

Personally, I feel that one of Gnome's strong points is that normally it doesn't try to look like Windows. The mod that Mint and SUSE made to the menu is a step in the opposite direction.

Does anyone know an easy way to change the Gnome interface back to its original settings with the menu system like what's in Ubuntu and Fedora?

Thanks!

Right click on the "Daryna" menu button within the panel and choose “Remove from Panel”. Then right click on an empty part of the Panel and choose “Add to Panel”.
Then select “Main Menu” if you want a simple Gnome Menu, “Menu Bar” if you want the default Gnome Menu.

Oh wow... how amazingly simple. I was able to get the whole thing back just how I like it. Thanks for the tip!

this is also possible in suse, the same way it was done in Mint.
