Linux for 64bit processors

Being new to linux I don't really know the relative merits of one distribution over another!

Which linux distribution for 64 bit processors would you recommend?

Thanks

I have no idea about the first statement (Consequently, it is not in the quote )

If you want to try out a GNU/Linux Distribution, you can try Knoppix for 64-bit processor.

Try Ubuntu Linux (or Kubuntu) if you would like a distribution installed on the Hard disk drive.

Moved: This thread is more suitable in Linux-Distributions and has been moved accordingly to help your thread/question get the exposure it deserves.

This is because Linux From Scratch is a distro in itself.

Perhaps, the name indicates, something else too, and therefore, I feel, the OP had posted it there.
