Linux distro with PPTP client pre-installed?
 

Is there a Linux CD-bootable distro with a PPTP client pre-installed? I want to be able to stick a CDROM in any PC and be able to use a PPTP client to connect to a Microsoft PPTP server at work, then run a web browser. It doesn't matter if it runs Gnome, KDE, Fluxbox or whatever.

I looked into Kanotix and PCLinuxOS thinking one of those would have it, but couldn't find it. Maybe it's there, but my newbie'ness got the best of me.

Mepis does. It's a live cd distro, available free, and based on Debian. It's pretty slick, one of the better Debian based distros and currently number 5 on Distro Watch. Here's a link:

I know it has a pptp client, but I have not tested it, so I can't guarantee how well it works. But it's definitely worth a free download. Let me know if/how it works.

PPTP client can be run right from the CD?

You *should* be able to run it from the CD. I installed to HD so I can't say for sure, but it is built like Knoppix, so all the apps should run from CD as well.

I couldn't find anything guys. And in the meantime, my dueling providers were kind enough (= want to retain my business) to set me up via DHCP. No more VPN for me.
