I have some queries regarding open LDAP :
1)I have configured ldap server for addressbook entries.It is working fine clients are getting access properly. can i use evolution to modify(i.e. to add personal information of users) LDAP entries by using LDAP server admin login(i.e.Manager).
2)which is best LDAP server browser for managing LDAP server from GUI.
i tried phpLDAPadmin but not working.
3)Is it necessary to configured ACL before modifying addressbook entry. or what are the requirements for modifying entries.

you can use jxplorer to edit ldap directory services.
Regarding how to setup ldap server, you can goto official openldap website, however few items you must remember carefully:-
-inside configuration file, white space is very sensitive, always avoid white space or tab at everyline
-you cannot edit the ldap directory before you insert initial data into ldap server.
