Kubuntu vs. Vector

I need a more stable, quick OS that teaches me more about Linux. I was not able to install slackware due to problems with cfdisk. So, I decided to look into Vector, since it is based on Slackware. Please advise.

If you select "other", please post a reply saying what you recommend.

Use Slackware. If cfdisk creates problems, use fdisk instead.
