Has anyone tried kororaa with xgl yet?
I mean come on, this shit looks fucking fly
But how is the kernel and package system to handle?
Is it worth trying out, cos the graphs are off the chart, but if it handles like an 18-wheeler with all wheels popped, then i don't wanna use it :P
Alot of other people including the creators have given it good reviews, but i still don't know if it is user friendly or not, because i'm trying to persuade some winblows users to use this instead :P
if it is userfriendly that is :P
I used the Kororaa LiveCD on a 1GHZ PIII with 384 Megs of RAM and a GeForce 4 with 128 Megs, and it worked very well. I was surprised it ran that smoothly.
However, I've been having a hell of a time getting it to go on the same hardware, but on OpenSuSE 10.1.
It is REALLY cool. I can tell you how useful it is once I get it working and use it for awhile
ive tried it on my desktop ( P4 3.0 GHZ with Nvidia 6600GT ) and a friends laptop ( P4 2.6 with intel graphics ) and in both cases it ran very smoothly. it has a lot of softwares bundeled with it and can easily be considered a proper distro. the only reason i dint install it was because it did not support DSL internet otherwise i would have gone with it.
keep in mind though, it gives trouble with ATI cards ( a friends ATI 9600 couldnt load compiz properly )
I just tried to run it on my Dell Dimension 2350... kernel panic at boot during both their autoconfig script and (if i skipped autoconf) coldplug. =/ I'm really wanting to see this!
EDIT: lol, just skipped coldplug and hotplug... THIS IS THE MOST FUCKING AMAZING THING I'VE EVER SEEN!! Revolutionary... cooler than OS X.
