Question Knoppix 4.0.2 Stalls on Boot

In a HDD Debian converted install, after running through most of the boot, a message of "finding" pci OK is followed by usb then stall.

This is on an Asus A7V board w/USB2. I have seen where there seems to be a similar problem with an A7V board w/266 chipset (this is a KM400). Is there a "fix" to this?

Other particulars are Athlon2500, 1GigRAM, Nv5200FX...all pretty much standard type of stuff.
