uhh

uhh, where to start:
a. most of this stuff is on the knoppix website if you looked, but ill help you anyway with what I know.

Knoppix I think has Konsole at least, but I dont know about either gnome-terminal, aterm, xterm, rxvt.... but these are all basiclaly the same. The xterm, aterm and rxvt are light xterms and use very little system resources and load quickly. But konsole and gnome-terminal, although being much bigger in file size and slower to load, allow you to do essential things, like cut and paste, able to "tab" (like in firefox) and many other useful features.

What is the available desktop window managers for this enviroment, where do i select them, can i do it permanently?

I think it only comes with kde, and no you cant set them permanantly. knoppix is a livecd, therefore you cannot change anything to the cd unless you install it.
