Image checksum error, sorry...

"Image checksum error, sorry... "

I have two new computers here and I receive the above error message when trying to install any linux CD. I get another error when I try installing Windows.

I burnt the ISO onto 3-4 CD's and receive the same errors on these 2 new PC's. I tried the CD's on two other machines and the CentOS installation appears to start properly.

Anyone have any suggestions??

Is this a new or old PC?

You may want to buy a cd cleaning kit and clean the cd drive. Running memtest would also be useful.

It was the BIOS for me

I had a similar problem with an old HP zt1180. I went to the HP site and got a BIOS update that makes the BIOS compatible with the El Torito boot standard.

If that doesn't work try installing from a floppy. The instructions for burning a bootable floppy are usually available in the distributions site.
