Did u check whether your system requirements meet that stated on the website?
Well, if it is, then the problem might have occured during burning the ISO. Try running Knoppix once again and find if the same difficulty exists.
And during startup time, (of knoppix) did it probe your monitor and/or graphics card (if applicable).Find out n tell me...if possible I might b able to help
It is working, but obviously hanging somewhere. While its booting, there is an option to press "F2" (or some other key) to view "messages". Press the appropriate key to view the bootup messages so that you know exactly on what step the system is hanging.
I tried sevral boot options and none went through. I tried to boot textmode and went through the prompt but i dont know what to do from there.
When i tried the boot option 'expert', one error message appeared under this caption - "creating directories & symlinks on ramdisk... ". It says - "scsi0: error on channel 0".
It seems it(knoppix) can read my monitor and graphics when I read it from the messages appeared.
Could be an MD5 Checksum ( http://www.knoppix.net/wiki/Downloading_FAQ )problem but it seems to getting stuck reading one of your scsi devices. try booting with this cheat code:
boot: knoppix no scsi
You might also try loading a less intense windows manager as well.
I also just started with Knoppix 3.7. First, watch the bottom of the screen. it will show "boot:" Press enter and watch the HDD activity light. I am running it on a 500 mHz K6-2 with a 48X CD ROM drive. Very simply, it takes a while to load. Keep an eye on the HDD activity light. It's your best ckue.
