Recently I bought an Aspire One. Unfortunately it came with XP preinstalled. I'm trying to replace windows with Linpus. This distro comes with the linux version of these toys and thus it has the highest chances to work with everything (I assume it's customised to work with it), but I can't find any tutorial on how do put the iso image on a usb key (I don't have a usb cdrom).
I tried dd-ing the iso but it's not working, tried to format the key as ext2, set the partition active and copy the content of the iso on it, but it's not working either so any other ideas? I don't suppose creating an Ubuntu installation key and overwrite the files with those from the Linpus cd iso will work, or will it?
Actually Linpus is based on Fedora (at least that's what wikipedia says). So I think I'll try to build a bootable usb key using fedora and instead of using a fedora iso, use the Linpus one. Hopefully it will work.
I was hoping to install Linpus because it is supposed to be smaller and optimized for these toys. On the other hand, using an exotic distribution with no community around it...
