Hey, I've been using GCL for a while in a 80486 computer I have and I like it a lot
.
However, what I thought was the coolest thing with GCL is that you could use only floppies to install the hole distribution. I say that because the PC I installed it has no CD-Rom at all...
But, if I had a CD-rom in my PC, I would not have used GCL or I would put a lot of packages from Slackware 3.5 on the CD, since programs as gcc won't fit in a 3.5' floppy.
So, unless you've added a lot of packages from Slackware's ftp to "enhance" GCL, Damn Small Linux or Deli Linux would be a better option then GCL for peoples with a i586 Processor and CD-rom device...
I'm not saying that having a bootable disk with GCL is not useful, I am just saying that GCL was designed to be an small distro installable from floppies. That's the pretty of it for non-cdroms and non-networked PC's
