Grey Cat Linux Bootable CD

Hi all,

first off no im not asking is there one beacuae i know very well that there isnt one, second i have talked to a few of my linux liking friends who said they wanted a tiny linux distro for their old pcs but couldnt be bothered installing it, so i thought why not try to make some kind of CD out of grey cat and give it to them so they can trial it, kind of like a live CD, i have the iso file and i have given it to them but i think they have gone on holiday and they havent told me whether it works or not, so if i can share it some where i would like for someone to try it out for me, i have managed to get VMware to boot it but not linux, my actual work PC wont boot off a CD,

any and all opinions welcomed,
i also take constructive criticism.

Hey, I've been using GCL for a while in a 80486 computer I have and I like it a lot .

However, what I thought was the coolest thing with GCL is that you could use only floppies to install the hole distribution. I say that because the PC I installed it has no CD-Rom at all...

But, if I had a CD-rom in my PC, I would not have used GCL or I would put a lot of packages from Slackware 3.5 on the CD, since programs as gcc won't fit in a 3.5' floppy.

So, unless you've added a lot of packages from Slackware's ftp to "enhance" GCL, Damn Small Linux or Deli Linux would be a better option then GCL for peoples with a i586 Processor and CD-rom device...

I'm not saying that having a bootable disk with GCL is not useful, I am just saying that GCL was designed to be an small distro installable from floppies. That's the pretty of it for non-cdroms and non-networked PC's

fair enough, but i have it if someone/anyone is interested, at the moment i havent added any other packages but i will have to look at it a bit more because after making an install disk (i was messing around with a live CD) it installs ok but sometimes boots unable to mount the file system and othertime it boots but wont start X, i will keep playing with this because i like to mess about with operating systems (my last task was to build a windows install disk with apps already on the CD) If you are interested then please msg me,
