GnomeToaster on RedHat 9

I am running RedHat 9 with the kernel upgraded to
version 2.4.21.

When I run the GNomeToaster 1.0 Beta6,

The program runs correctly until it starts to burn the
CD. At somepoint usually before completing the burn
the computer locks up and ruins the CD.

The XCDRoastversion 0.98Alpha program does not have this problem.
However, it is is more complicated to run.

Is there a better CD writer program availlable for Linux?
