Gentoo portage problem

I am trying to emerge fnlib, this is what I get:

-- No package manifest found: /usr/portage/media-libs/fnlib/Manifest

!!! File is corrupt or incomplete. (Digests do not match)
>>> our recorded digest: 42093ed5...[etc etc]
>>> your file's digest: a98b52...[etc etc]
!!! File does not exist: /usr/portage/distfiles//fnlib-0.5.tar.gz

I've tried deleting /usr/portage/distfiles/fnlib-0.5.tar.gz and trying again but it still gives the same error.

-- Gentoo boards are back up, apparently this is a fairly common issue.
