Angry Gentoo livecd boot problems

Ok I burnd the Gentoo iso and it boots scroling things as it's going, but when the Gentoo packman looking thing comes up with a row of icons that disapear as stuff loads [sorry on the terms everyone] well when it gets to where the desktop loads the monitor [an Emachines 15" flat panel] says no signal and goes into power save mode. The video card is a Diamond Stealth P90 so it should handle things ok. I'm stumped as to what to do.

If you want to install Gentoo, then I suggest you use the minimal installation disc. It seems like many people have problems with the live cd (myself included).

There are no desktops on the minimal install disc, just the CLI. You use CLI tools to build the base system and then once thats done you can install other packages such as KDE.

Well that rules me out for now. I have to use xvkbd to type with due to my disability. on Mepis I used the livecd to boot had a nurse aid log me in the durg the xvkbd binary over to the desktop in ram. I could then do the whole set up myself. That's why I was hoping the Gentoo cd would work. Oh well, just an idea.

It is possiable to build and install Gentoo from a live CD such as Knoppix... would that help?

http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/altinstall.xml#doc_chap3

Oh, after fully reading your last post, yeah, the same idea applies for installing from Mepis.

Penguin after reading your link it says to use
mount -o bind /proc /mnt/gentoo/proc
instead of
mount -t proc proc /mnt/gentoo/proc
maybe that's why.....guess I'll find out on the next try.
