I've downloaded the 3 .iso's for gentoo linux, however, i think i've downloaded the livecd's, i wanted the full desktop package, and i can't find out what i'm doing with these livecd's all i get is a normal CLI bit.
Can anyone provide me with a mirror with the correct packages, i always get this trouble when downloading distro's of linux
Haven't read the documentation? Those "CLI bits" it where you install Gentoo from, it's a very advanced distro, unless you are pretty handy with a linux command line you probably won't like using Gentoo. Have a read of this, it's the gentoo install guide, it's about 40-ish pages and is great fun
As a quick introduction for interest/learning, one approach is to start with a stage3 from the Universal live cd - after getting aclimatized for a short while then move on to something more substantial.. - you can have the handbook to hand during the install by accesing it via another terminal - good luck
