I follow the online instructions for installing xorg on gentoo's site, and type
and it has 5 packages to install (after calculating the dependencies). The first is x11-misc/ttmkfdir-3.0.9-r3. I just installed gentoo two days ago. Here is the text at the end that gets dumped to the screen:
Code:
libtool --mode=compile i586-pc-linux-gnu-g++ -Wall -pedantic -I/usr/include/freetype2 -march=pentium3 -pipe -o ttmkfdir.o -c ttmkfdir.cpp
libtool --mode=compile i586-pc-linux-gnu-g++ -Wall -pedantic -I/usr/include/freetype2 -march=pentium3 -pipe -o directory.o -c directory.cpp
libtool: compile: unable to infer tagged configuration
libtool: compile: specify a tag with `--tag'
make: *** [ttmkfdir.o] Error 1

My /etc/make.conf:
Code:
# These settings were set by the catalyst build script that automatically built this stage
# Please consult /etc/make.conf.example for a more detailed example
CFLAGS="-O2 -march=pentium3 -pipe"
CHOST="i586-pc-linux-gnu"
CXXFLAGS="${CFLAGS}"
MAKEOPTS="-j2"
USE="gtk aac alsa apm avi gtk2 java -qt -kde mp3 mpeg apache2 ogg oggvorbis xine"
GENTOO_MIRRORS="http://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/distributions/gentoo/"
The computer is an Ipaq by compaq. PIII at 500MHz (coppermine) 256MB RAM and a 10gig hdd. The kernel: 2.6.12-gentoo-r6.
I don't know why that package fails... I searched around a bit, too but I didn't find anything. Any ideas are gladly accepted. Thanks.
