I've been a Happy Mandrake user for about a year and half now. I'm getting the basics and learn something new everyday. Right now my mandrake box is serving apache, postfix, snort, and proftpd for personal use and learning (CIS Major).

A little while ago (month) I was told to try out debain sometime, but I've also heard good things about freebsd. I will be getting an old machine (about 300 mhz 32-64 mb ram) and just wondering what everyone thinks I should use or advice anyone may have to offer.

Why not install both and dual boot..

Well, its not too bad of an idea. Think machine would be able to handle that ok?
