file associations

Running mandrake 10 rc1, everytime i reboot my file assosiations are lost from kde3.2

such as mpg, avi and other media formats are no longer assosiated with Mplayer,

Does this happen in other distros? is it a mandrake or kde problem?

my main question is does it happen in mandrake 10 community or official?
