I just installed Gentoo last night. I enabled ~AMD64 and I'm trying to update but keep running into walls. I ran emerge --update --deep --newuse world and everything seemed to be going well until it quit because it ran into errors with Evolution, I don't use it, so I unmerged it, but it still keeps trying to install it with no success.

There are also some programs "blocking" other programs from being updated.

For your first problem, don't know because you didn't provide the information the ebuild told you to provide. For the second problem, read the Portage documentation --> http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/handboo...ap=1#doc_chap4
Doesn't look like sys-fs/udev-126 is available anymore. Do you have this version in your package.keywords list? You can either remove the entry to get the latest stable version (udev-124-r1), or update the package.keywords entry to udev-130-r1
instead.
For the evolution error, you need to post the first error (it should be further up the screen from what you actually posted).
