Hi,after many years,,its time to try linux..my main question is what distrobution should i try.?
my main concern is being able to use e-bay,,i'm and old fart and need to sell junk to help my monthly income,,the pittance i get from the goverment doesn't go very far.. I also do some burning of cd's and dvd's for the grand kids..
any help and or suggestions will be greatly apreciated..

Every distro on the planet will work with ebay. I'd suggest Kubuntu or Ubuntu (They send free CD's) or Mepis. Those are lighter than most distro's, but come with everything you need, and you can easily add anything you want.

You will get as many answers to this one as there are people on earth I advise you to try a very user friendly distro such as Ubuntu. A good thing about this one is that you can download a live cd which will actually let you try the distribution running it from the cd without changing anything to your actual system before you eventually decide to install it.
Other distributions have live cds but Ubuntu is one of the easiest and friendliest I have seen.
