Dual Boot Mandrake 9.0/9.1 & W2k--Opera and Dreamweaver NFG
G'day.
I have just upgraded from Mandrake 9.0 to 9.1, hoping to rid myself of a problem that may be related to me dual booting with Windows 2000. Unfortunately, the problem still exists.
Dreamweaver MX and Opera do not operate correctly. Generally, graphics don't load properly. Adobe Acrobat 5.0 acted oddly as did Fireworks, but they seem to have settled down once I went to the 9.1 distribution. Still, this computer will often reboot itself when it is doing some heavy processing.
rebooting when doing heavy calculations or processing?
Can you say hardware.
-Check your CPU temp? do you have thermal paste between your Heat sink and Fan ?
-Is your power supply underpowered for your machine? Do you have a 300watt or higher power supply ?
I have overclocked a Duron 750 to 850 (and have a v. good heat sink and fan), however, the temps are fine. Yes, I did bump up the voltage. But I will bring the CPU down to factory specs and see what happens.
