Haven't tried it, but looks pretty cool. I'll bookmark the page to download it later ;)

BTW, for what I saw in the screenshots it uses engage (the OSX style bar at the bottom of the screen) which is also used by elive (a debian etch based distro that uses E16 and E17).

This is cool. I may download it.
I know lots of people who'd love it.
Personally I would Like to see someone do Dream LFS.

Certainly looks great, if I wasn't building my own from slackware I would probably download it.

You could also check out http://wolphination.com/linux/2006/0...dreamlinux-20/ for screenshots and opinion.

In the meantime, I have moved this to Linux-Distributions.

I stumbled upon DreamLinux and downloaded the XGL version, I'm having trouble installing it on my laptop (hangs on 50%) but from the Live CD it is the best looking distro I've seen. Will try it on my desktop in the next 48 hours.

fotoguy 09-06-2006 07:56 PM

Could anyone give a brief description of what they like about it? I have completed making my own live cd and in the process of polishing it, some ideas on what you think is good and what should be part of a live cd may help me to make mine much better, and if its good enough may even release it.

I'll also intall dreamlinux and see

phstpok 09-29-2006 02:50 AM

I like that it has xmms and mplayer by default, but wonder if they will run into licensing problems with mp3 etc.

Yeah, i'm on a desktop and it hangs at 50 for me too, it says copy commencing, but i can hear the HD and cd working, so if i were u I would leave it

It looks awesome, but I don't have an Nvidia. I could go with the normal install, but that wouldn't be as great. Maybe I'll use this as an excuse to upgrade from that stupid Intel Integrated Graphics card.

Hi guys;) not on a personal recruiting campaign ....but I will say that you should take another look at Dreamlinux;)

There have been some really great improvements to a very good distro. The 3.5 version is soon to be released!!

I, like some of you, sort of was looking around for something to try and stumbled on Dreamlinux...never looked back since!

Dreamlinux has its own section now feel free to post there if you want help in the future.

The guys behind Dreamlinux are a continuing reason why Linux is so good!!
