Do Gentoo Linux is easy for beginner?
Hi all,
I want to ask do Gentoo Linux is easy to install for beginner, I know how to install RH Linux 8, 9, Fedora 1, but Fedora 2 can't install on my PC....
So I try Offical Debian R1 later, it is hard to install and failed again, so I want to try Gentoo Linux to replace the old old RH 9.0.
And I want to ask, do Gentoo is base on LSB 1.2 like Mardrake Linux, do it is best for be a server, I want to learning more server technology, so it is why I learning Linux, and also want to find a good linux to replace the WXP Desktop, don't introduce me to using Mandrake, I dislike it can't boot on my PC after install it on the Partition 1 and Logical Partition
thx for your time

if you can read the manual and a very careful person, yes, gentoo is not exactly impossible for even a newbie. You shouldn't face too much problem too as you have previous experience with other distroes.
read and reread this before your start:
http://www.gentoo.org/doc/tw/handbook/handbook-x86.xml
Their forum is very active and most of the times, friendly too.
