distro that uses standalone compiz by default

I'm looking for a distro that uses compiz in a standalone environment, like how Crunchbang uses openbox, but with compiz. I've tried installing debian testing and building up by installing xserver-xorg, slim and compiz but have had no success due to bugs. I've also tried ubuntu with no success either.

I guess that there currently is no distro with compiz as stand-alone WM. You will have to build it yourself. The best way when you encounter errors is to ask here for the specific case, may be someone is able to help you.

You can set up Compiz as a standalone window manager in any distro.

This is how you do it on Ubuntu.

This is how you do it on Arch.

This is the .xinitrc file that I use to do it in Slackware:
