distro that can install from usb cd-rom

Hello, all

I looking for a small and light distro that can boot from a floppy (which can load usb drivers) and then install from usb-cdroms, similar to mandrake's 9, hd_cdrom_usb.img but with the options and speed of gentoo, because my laptop has very low resources and has a bootable usb floppy drive and a non-bootable usb cd-rom drive. Does any one have ideas?

Note: I have successfully installed mandrake 8.2 via it's usb cdrom bootdisk, and have installed gentoo, via chroot in mandrake 8.2

Any feed-back would be appreciated
