Dist for uniting two networks

Hi

I am having trouble deciding on which dist I should run for this need. Basicly I have two networks which I need to unit with eachother, so I want to set up a old P2 with linux to combine them. It has two NIC cards in so all I want is just to forward absolutly everything, I dont want any firewalls or anything.

I have tried just using routers, but what I want to get through is a multicast udp stream but all routers seem to lose this stream for some reason. Thats why I thought my only chances is to setup a linux server to forwarda absolutly everything since security is not an issue.

So what dist will run smoothly (lots of traffic will be going through) and do what I need it to do and no more?

What routers have you tried to use for this purpose?
Have they all been consumer electronic store machines, or actual routers?
If you have an actual, dedicated router, then that is the way to go. Most of them have to be configured to accept, and pass mutilcast traffic, as it is a broadcast of sorts, and they are set to disallow broadcast, directed broadcast, and multicast to prevent storms.

My PC router is running Slack. Very lightweight if you configure it to be, and it routes well - but I would use a router for that.
