Custom Install ISO

I would like to burn an ISO which when booted will automatically install the OS with as minimum questions as possible and also install an application program. Ideally running in a kiosk mode.

I was wondering what distros people would recommend for this and if anyone knows of any resources where i could find to construct such a cd.

This is a nice idea, but what if the hardware is different?
