Crazed Weasel Linux - Expressions of Interest

Hi, I am writing this post to inform you of a Linux distribution I have put together called Crazed Weasel Linux.

When I started the Crazed Weasel project, my main focus was that it be friendly, pre-configured and easy to use, so that new Linux Users could install it to their computer and start using it immediately without being scared, as it is pre-configured and ready to run.
The idea was that all of the hard work has been done for you, you just get to enjoy the benefits.

If anyone is interested in this idea, I have posted a Presentation of Crazed Weasel Linux, showing it exactly as it comes off the disc.

------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Proposal : How would you like to never have a windows virus infect your system again, be able to surf the web anywhere at anytime immune from spyware, have no more spam or pop-up problems, double your system speed because you have no need for all of the system hogging 'Anti-...' software that windows requires, have access to literally 20,000 programs, games and utilities, be able to play, rip and burn dvd's and music and any other media type you want, powerful office suites, desktop publishing, photo editing, video editing, printers, scanners, the ability to use and save Micro$oft office files, be able to run most windows programs, use bluetooth to your phone or pda, have direct helpdesk support via remote desktop, and play some really cool games ... all pre-installed and configured for you ... distributed completely legal ... no activation or registration ever again ... all for free

If this sounds appealing .. then you're in luck because this is exactly what you get with Crazed Weasel Linux.

I hope you enjoy this operating system.

Cheers

Orbit
------------------------------------------------------------------------

After you have had a look at the presentations, and have decided that you would like to run Crazed Weasel Linux, Feel free to contact me.
(I am currently gathering a download request list to be presented to my ISP, who have agreed to host Crazed Weasel for download when they have enough requests).

Crazed Weasel Linux has been based from Slackware12.

Thank you very much, I hope you enjoy the Presentations and I look forward to your replies.

Regards

Orbit

Quick glance:

Some of the features you are promoting appear to be standard Linux/KDE fare.

The fancy graphics do nothing for me personally, and I don't know if they also are standard stuff.

I think it would be a good idea to try and tell people how your distro is different and distinctive

Hi,

The Distinction with Crazed Weasel is that everything has been pre-configured.

What you see in the Presentations is Exactly what you get when you first load Crazed Weasel.
(You don't have to install any programs or configure any system settings).

Apart from the obvious graphical enhancements, the installed and configured applications, utilities and games; some of the other enhancements include:-

Graphical Startup bootsplash's, KDE splashscreens and custom login screens.

Configured Samba Networking so that you can Network simultaneously between Windows systems and Linux Systems.

Pre-configured and working bluetooth connectivity (to your phone or PDA).

Compiz Desktop Effects [Presentation2] is setup and ready to run (with easy-to-read PDF instructions on how to tweak your ATI or Nvidia video card to make it happen).

The latest Nvidia and ATI drivers come supplied on the disc for you,
with easy to read step-by-step instructions on how to install them. (aimed at beginners).

Customised servicemenu commands that enhance your everyday computing.

All file associations have been tweaked to remove useless entries.

Improved K-Menu grouping so that controlling your computer is easier and more logical.

Extensive clear and concise documentation has been included for all aspects of Crazed Weasel.
Also included are Linux manuals so that your reading resources are available immediately.

More Logical design of the 'Home' Folder so that Linux beginners will feel more at home.

Extreme attention-to-detail enhancing all elements of the operating system, aimed at making a beginner feel more comfortable with their Linux experience.

Added to that are the multimedia enhancements which allow you to:-
Easily convert any DVD to an Xvid ... or inversely you can convert an Xvid back to a normal DVD again.

Convert any movie file or audio track to Mobile phone 3GP or AMR format's.

The ability as a user to plug and play Scanners and Printers.

Create Desktop publications.

Edit, Rip or Convert your DVD'S or Movies.

Convert your Audio tracks

Choice of Web Browsers, FTP Clients and Servers.

The latest kernel patched to enable bootsplash with pre-built initrd's for both PATA or SATA drives,
(with instructions on how to change them depending on your system configuration).

Documented and pre-configured system files including smb.conf, dual booting grub loader and rc.local files. (instructions and commands are all in place to allow a user to tweak their system by simply removing the relevant hashes [#] ).

The latest stable KDE version, with heavily customised KDE theming, wallpaper collections and Icon sets to improve the look of the Operating System.

and so on ... and so on ...
(This is just a very small portion of the abilities of Crazed Weasel).

I would consider this to be a rather large difference to standard KDE.
So I please encourage you to take the time to have more than a 'quick-glance' at the Presentations, as the distinctions in Crazed Weasel speak for themselves.

Cheers

Orbit

p.s. I am looking for somewhere to Host the Crazed Weasel DVD-ISO so that it can be downloaded.
(rather than just reading about it, I have found that once users install it and experience how easy and convenient this operating system really is, it sells itself).

Can anyone help with Hosting the ISO at all?

Thanks in advance for any support

.
