console mode


how can i boot up all the time to console mode in suse 8.2

You want runlevel 3.

Edit /etc/inittab

Change the line that says:
id:5:initdefault
to:
id:3:initdefault

boot

A description of what the various runlevels mean can be found in the inittab comments.
