This problem is frustrating and I am on the verge of replacing one of my Xandros systems with Debian because of it.
I want to install PythonCard on my Xandros system, but since Xandros does not have sources for PythonCard, I must use Debian "unstable" sources to build the packages. I did this but was unable to install the resulting packages because of a failed dependency: wxpython. I am unable to satisfy the deps in order to build wxpython.
Can I use pbuilder to build packages that will install on Xandros? I can't figure out how to do this for a Xandros system, though I have done it to build Sarge packages from "Sid" sources.
Would it be easier to just install Debian Sarge instead of Xandros? What has kept me from doing that is that Debian takes hours to install, where a Xandros installation takes just a few minutes.
