Doesn't seem to be a Centos Forum here,so hope this is the best place to ask.
I'm currently running Fedora 12, but I'm loosing interest in changing OS every year. So instead of going to Fedora 14, I would like to try something with a longer life.
Is it worth waiting for Centos 6, or should I go for Fedora 14 or Centos 5.5?
CentOS 6 is rumoured to be about January/February.
CentOS 5 was released in 2007, so that will be supported for another 4 years yet. CentOS 5 is quite far behind in terms of a desktop. Bug and Security fixes are ported back, software isn't updated, so you will have a desktop that was current in '07. I don't know if this is a problem for you or not.
However, there is nothing stopping you installing 5.5, and if you feel it is too outdated updating to 6 when that is released. It may be a tricky update, but it should go through.
