Hi I have a toshiba portage 3840CT
I can boot and use v 1.1 but it bombs out for 1.2
ive seen this for other versions of linux and what it sems to be is the following:
the cd drive is "IDE" however it is phisicly on the PCMCIA channel, this is apprently common in these laptops, I have been advised the search for PCMCIA devices causes the OS to not find thes IDE devices later????
what i need to know is how do i stop all pcmcia action at boot?
is there a default command i can feed to the kernal.
sorry if iseem informed by dumb but my knowledge is very patchy.

before the CDROM search i get the following errors
PCI_IDE 0000:01 :03.0: device not avalibel because of BAR 2 [0x0-0x7] collosions

then lots of repeated errors relating including "failed with error -22"

am I right in thinking this is a memory addressing issue?????

OK ive got quite far over at the geexbox forums, however it looks like they and i have come to a dead end.

it will boot but one of the scripts locks into a loop?

any idea?????
