Can't Find CENTOS

I am looking for a website where I can purchase Centos 4.0, Centos 4.1, or Centos 4.2. I already have a Centos 4.5 and 5.0 addition but neither one of them have the packages already on them that I need to run Oracle 10g. Trying to download packages is a headache to say the least because for every package I try to install there are 5 others that need to be installed for them to work...and then you have to install other packages in order for the other packages to work...to much time and trouble.

However the Centos 4.0,4.1, and 4.2 have the packages already on them. So If anyone knows where I can download or purchase one of these operating systems I would greatly appreciate it.

You should be able to download the ISOs of the CentOS4 cd/dvd and burn them. I don't imagine you will have a tremendous amount of luck finding a place to purchase them since they're no longer the current release. You would have better luck getting Redhat 4 cds if you're looking to purchase something. If you're using yum it should handle the dependency issues for you off the bat, yum install package(s) and it will download all dependencies for all packages in the chain and install them all in one go... you can walk away from the keyboard. If you are installing say a vendor provided rpm and it fails on dependencies all you need to do is one command with yum and it will load everything you need.

Secondarily, you should NOT be running out of date revisions of things just because it's easier, you need to be current and security patched no matter how safe you believe the machine to be.

why would you need ( or want to ) buy previous versions

I would suggest that you do some reading and find out what it is you need.

rweaver thank you so much for that information. I do remember seeing the Yum packages I will go back to make sure they have been downloaded. I am new to Linux and my main interest in Centos is actually for Oracle 10g. So I do appreciate the help. You had mentioned the statement below:

"If you are installing say a vendor provided rpm and it fails on dependencies all you need to do is one command with yum and it will load everything you need."

I have two questions if I install the Yum packages are there other packages that may conflict with the program that I may need to unistall and two...could you post the command that I would need to run for the dependencies to download. I have tried looking for answers to other questions on the internet about Linux but it almost always ends up being information overload without actuall answering my questions. So if you could provide this information I would greatly appreciate it.
