Question Burning RH 7.3 CD's

I've downloaded the RH 7.3 release. I see where I'm cautioned about ISO file not being "burned" like most files. As I don't want to waste CD's is there something "special" I'm supposed to do?? Does it require a specific software package ?

In my first install I bought the boxed store version. Thought I would try the download this time.

Thanks,
Michael

What software are you using to burn with might help us out ? Usually just specify that your burning a iso image and it should burn alright.

I have several but the default is what came with the HP CD-RW. It's called CD writer powered by Veritas. I also have Nero 5.5 but seldom use it. I have not had any troubles with the default HP program.

In nero goto file > Burn Image

then from the window that pops-up choose your *.iso file, and click on OK. Then Burn.

Do the same for every one of the .iso's

The names of the buttons might be a little different, because I don't have NERO, and I am telling you the names from memory.

When you burn the ISO images on CD, make sure you use 700MB compact discs !

Many people argument that fact, but the real fact is that burning the ISO images onto 700MB CDs stopped giving me installation problems -as reported by other users and forums.

(Something to do with extra space (5 - 10 x-bytes) needed at burning procedure [?]. I just know that it worked... after spending days downloading from different mirrors and from the slowest official site. I wasted more than 1/2 of a dozen 650MB CD-Rsss !
By the way, the checksums of each burnt CD passes the test with the two types of CD, but the one with smaller capacity will give you errors.)

Have a nice day

700MB CD's

I have burned a couple of 650MB CD's. I have not used them yet nor ran the check sums. Based on what you said I'll go check them and report what I find.

Tks
