Yeah. I was hoping that people would give examples of why a certain distro is better than Kubuntu and why.
Forgive me. I'm rather noobish.
These questions about "What is the best..." are silly.
There is no better, no worse. Its all opinion. If I like Fedora w/ KDE because everything works out of the box, but you can't get your internet connection to work, then you're probably not gonna stick w/ it. Anyone who tells you one is better than the other, is simply telling you their personal experience.
If you want to try other KDE distros, download Live CDs of KDE distros, and try them.
Mepis is a nice Debian variant. I think they realized that Ubuntu is over hyped and decided that a good distro needs to be stable not just "pretty".
Your question shows a Windows world around you and Mepis fits in well.
KDE3 based and probably not going to KDE4 any time soon.
I recently installed Mandriva and I must say it is pretty nice KDE based distro. Everything works out the box and for the past 2 weeks, I haven't had any issues with anything. It picked up on my Nvidia card, HD sound card with no hitches. Give it a shot and see what you think. I believe they have a livecd also.

I currently use mostly Mandriva on my laptop and mostly Kubuntu on my desktop. They are both excellent for KDE. openSUSE is also nice; I have used it in the past. Going down the list, Sabayon is pretty nice as well. However, if you are already on Kubuntu, I recommend trying either Mandriva or openSUSE.
