Thanks

Are you talking about playing Windows games on Linux? Or do you have native Linux ports of some games? Not that I'm aware it makes much difference - most of the popular distros should be good choices.
so like redhat, fedorea and suse, i'm just considering linux to boost my computer performance... if that means losing my games, i dont want to do it, but i know theres things like Wine and Win4Lin, i couldnt find whether or not my games were supported... at least they arent yet(exept counter-strike ans SC4) but is there anything that would support most WXP programs/apps
If you're mainly looking to boost performance, I would not advise you to switch to Linux. While there are some reports of games running faster under Cedega/Winex, it is unlikely you will preserve 100% compatibility for a significant performance boost. Especially if you want to continue using Windows non-game applications, you're just setting yourself up for disappointment.
So, if you're basically looking for something like Windows that isn't actually Windows, I think you're barking up the wrong tree. If, on the other hand, what you want is open-source, more secure (possibly), more choices and you're keen on experimenting and learning new things, then go for Linux.
To be honest, that gamer edition distro is totally crap.
Just a marketing scam to gain money.
It's mostly DEMO's of the games, wich are free to download (and are in native linux).
My advice, stick with Windows for serious 3d gaming.
(ok, given, more and more games are now fully runing on linux, either through wine (cedega) or through native linux binaries; It still isn't that mature, so i expect you to be dissapointed eventually)

For one you might be believable if you actually knew what you were talking about. How can something be a "marketing scam" when there is no money charged and it's free to download and try.
I've been running Linux for hmmm let's see now 10 years and I have not been disapionted running WOW, City of Heros Warcraft III or various other popular titles. Granted some titles may not work but in most cases the various titles that do work better because they're using OpenGL as opposed to MircoCraps weak DirectX. I don't even know why I took the time to respond obviously people of your intelect also aurgue that XP is a great secure OS. Have fun playing your games when you're not hassling with trojans or adware!
marketing scam..........hmmmm......I do not receive any money from any sources for this remaster....as for the on-disk and buying...all of the profits go directly to Texstar as I wanted it set up that way to fund some extra contributions...your more than welcome to check the forums and even as Karlie at on-disk about this...I can even forward some e-mails that explain this but as for your knowledge of who,what,why....you really should have just asked and learned before you made a statement that you cannot backup and do not have proof...what I think is that your just mad that you do not have that knowledge or skill to do something like this to contribute to the linux community....actually since your a slack native I can actually put you in touch with a person who makes a slack gamer but you know that would probably be "scam" also...if you do not like it that is your opinion but calling something a scam is completely false as I have been making a version for more than a few years...we just recently have introduced squash3 to get over the 2gb limit..if you really want to know what is going on please post in the supergamer forum of pclinuxos..I do not moderate what is said and opinions are welcomed...but saying this is a scam is absolutely false..I made it and do not profit any from this at all
Supergamer sounds good to me. Anyway, I still can't believe that I will be able to see my favourite quake3 on Linux. I have demo version of the game and I have tried installing it on Fedora Core 1, SuSE 9.3 and Ubuntu 5.10 and I am sorry to dissappoint you all but, it didn't work.
All I could see fine was the game menu....and as the game starts, everything looks ugly. I couldn't even hear the sound properly. I tried posting my problem on this forum itself but received no response. Finally I had to install windows and then I could play the game.
Personally I love Linux as I have become quite familiar with it since I started using it in 2003. But, if you want best 3d gaming expericence Microsoft still has the flag.
if you have a newer nvidia card everything will work off the bat....I use the 7174 drivers for compatibility and get the most cards supported....you can install newer drivers also and ati drivers can be installed after a harddrive install to get 3d working on those cards.....you are more than welcome to come into the irc channel and ask questions or even post in the forums and get answers from me and others who have the supergamer...we have over 4200 downloads and numerous people who bought from on-disk as they have dial-up and very few issues so far that has been reported to me or in the forums...and this is upgradable to the newer programs if you choose to do that...questions I do not have a problem answering but false accusations by people who have no idea why I made this is really uncalled for...I never expected this to be more than a custom remaster for our community and I am surprised it has grown this big on a first attempt being a side project...as for quake..yes it works off the livedvd fine and if you look at the tuxmachines review it shows some pictures...now by default I kept the stuff at minimal resolutions to not take up as much ram when being loaded but they can be turned up with out allot of trouble

[sarcasm]Shows you know alot don't ya[/sarcasm]. Boy o you need to be doing your homework before you start spouting off about things better left to people who know what there talking about.
SuperGamer was put together by a hard working person in the PCLinuxOS community who did and released it to the community and hasn't ask a dime for it. He should be praised for his hard work. You owe him a huge apology for talking out of your arse.
It would seem that you are a bit ignorant as to what Supergamer is about. PCLinux Supergamer is FREE and Not a SCAM. Were is the big time Apology..
You have stepped in it, you are now #1.
No, you are. There is, as already mentioned, NO MONEYMAKING WHATSOEVER! It only includes the demos as those are the ones that are liscenced to be freely distributed. Including full versions could be illegal, and if not there's a 2GB ISO limit in squashfs2, so you can't include a lot more than the demo anyway. And yes, the demos are availible freely, but this packages them all up nicely in one place. Why on earth would you stick to Windows? Call of Duty and COD 2 both run PERFECTLY in Wine on PCLinuxOS, I've done it myself. And all you need is the Loki installer.
manishsingh4u, PCLOS isnt Ubuntu or Suse, and I know it works as there are hundreds, if not thousands of people who have run it from this SuperGamer DVD.
