Arch Linux: Do I need to install most of packages from source?
 
I heard that AUR is the user based repository of the Arch Linux which provides package building scripts. So if I am using Arch I need to compile a lot if I am installing / uninstalling a lot of applications?

The core, extra & community repos provide most packages that you will need. You shouldn't have to use AUR for many packages (although the PKGBUILD scripts make it easy to do so.)

See above. Most popular programs are in the regular binary repos and you will not need to compile them. Those that are not are usually available in the AUR. However not all packages in the AUR are source based. Some are actually binaries and involve no compilation at all on your side. The AUR (PKGBUILD) simply fetches the binary and installs it on your system.
