Why do you need a OLD and out dated version ?

kali2 is the current

and on ANY linux OS you can install "john the ripper"

the LIVE kali2 iso works just fine on every usb thumb drive i have put it on
( encrypted with persistence)

i take it you did not bother to read the install instructions !

it is a LIVE image

you use "dd" as per the install instructions
please READ !!! sections 1 and 2
1)
http://docs.kali.org/category/introduction
2)
http://docs.kali.org/category/downloading
then the install instructions in
3)
http://docs.kali.org/category/installation

you DO NOT burn a *.torrent file

you use a torrent client to download the ISO image using the .torrent file

No, we cannot give you "The Commands".

Why try to break the password at all? Just run your Linux OS in single-user mode or your Windows OS in recovery and reset it.

I tryed fcrackzip with -b -c aA -v -u then my zip files name and . zip.

but it is not breaking the password its giving me a random line of letters that did not work so i think something went wrong.

so i am trying to see if i can do something like this
The dictionary attack, or straight mode, is a very simple attack mode. It is also known as a Wordlist attack.

but i now there is a way to use a list of words to help crack my zips but i have no idea the command or the right name of the attack to even google it.

can someone please help me and tell me what program many people have told me john the ripper is the best program so can someone please give me the commands that i can put in please.

Then you will know whether it's worth trying a dictionary attack or not. Anything designed to brute-force a .zip file will work -- the OS and the authors of the program are irrelevant as you're just trying every single string until it works.
Or you could just restore from backup.

It's been a while since I used it myself and I did so against Windows Registry files, but this guide suggests it's very easy.
