To start off, I'm not looking for a specific distro recommendation, I'm looking for a site that has old distros available. I'm a newbie and am working on learning about linux. I have several distros available to me already, they are current, and I have some current books to work with. However, I've got some old hardware and some books that are a couple of years old that I want to make use of as well. So I'd like to locate a site where I can download versions that are a couple versions out of date. For instance, I have a book that concentrates on 2.2 kernel, I'd like to get a version to play around with that has that kernel.

I reallize that much of the book's content is good for the current distros, but since I'm just learning, I'd like to lessen the possibilities of having something now work correctly.

you can go to www.distrowatch.com & you can pick any 'senior' (e.g slackware) distro and click the ISO link of the older version
