AIR FANS under SuSE 9.0 kernel 2.4.21

Hello,

I have noticed that my air fans are more quiet on kernel 2.4.21 than on 2.4.20 SuSE. Now I can sleep with my computer on doing P2P )
I have a Dell Dimension 8200 P4 2ghz

Is there a rational explanation to this??

Probably something to do with the kernels expanding and less buggy support for configurable power interfaces. Basically. the kernel is figuring out a little more with each update, how to keep a fan running and the proper speed, instead of running the dang things like a chainsaw massacre maniac.
