Activating NVidia drivers with YaST on Suse 9.1 Personal

Hey,

I just installed the latest NVidia drivers a day or two ago, and was told by the installer to use YaST (I think) to activate the drivers. Thing is, i have no idea how to. This is quite embarrasing, as it can't really get any simpler to configure things than it is in YaST.

I did try to activate the drivers manually by following the directions in the second post of a topic that I was pointed to (I have the bookmark on LINUX Opera not WIN Opera, so I can't insert it here, graaargh!!!!). This required editing the /etc/X11/XFConfig file, which had a 'PLEASE DO NOT EDIT THIS FILE' comment at the top.... It seemed to work (I got the NVidia splash screen), but the screen was shifted to the left and I had to reconfigure the X settings in YaST. After I selected the desktop resoultions I wanted, the closest monitor model to mine, etc, I tested the settings and got a blank screen. (Darn). I un-edited the XFConfig file to get back to normal... from that I realised that manual editing wasn't a good idea.

So, how can I do it in YaST? I'd like to get this done as I'm itching to try games under Wine and WineX.

All you have to do is run Online Update, and you should see the NVidia driver sitting there.

Check it, Accept, and watch it download and install. That's all I had to do anyway.

If it works, you'll see the NVidia splash screen when you next restart X.

I tried that, it froze at 50% while installing 'fetch_nvidia' or something.
