Thanks, I have three difficulties with NFS install. 1) nic card not recognized. 2) Don't understand how to set parameters for nic card in linux. 3) Don't understand IP addresses.

Slack 8.0 and 8.1 have a good README on how to do an
installation over the network. Basically, you need to make a boot
disk and two root disks (floppies), and you should be good to go.
1) The Slack 8.0 and 8.1 network configs do a pretty good job of
finding most NICs.
2) You shouldn't need to worry about this, Slack should do it for you
3) You need to understand a bit about networking before you
can do much more than play games with Linux (IMHO). You can
find a lot of very useful information here at LQ, and by using
google. . .
Yup, networking knowledge is what's killing me. I've got a good solid DSL line. Brand New NIC. But as soon as install instruction ask for IP addresses, I'm out of luck.
