I have done a fresh install of PC Linux OS 10. However I cannot perform a dist upgrade as I get this error:
Code:
[root@localhost lewis]# apt-get dist-upgrade
Reading Package Lists... Done
Building Dependency Tree... Done
Calculating Upgrade... Failed
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
libnet-snmp25: Obsoletes: libnet-snmp20
E: Error, pkgProblemResolver::Resolve generated breaks, this may be caused by held packages.
On top of that, if I try to update the packages through Synaptic, it gives me a list of ones it wants to remove but there are ones like KDE, Firefox, Gimp. etc. and contains all the system packages.
I would try doing a regular system update first, to make sure everything is up to date before doing the dist-upgrade. Once you do this, if the problem still persists, please paste the whole output you get, along with taking a look in the usual log files, and paste any information that is outputted about the problem.
