OS: Gentoo 2.6.16-r9
Video card: nVidia e-GeForce 6200
I would also post my xorg.conf, but I have no way to do it other than to retype it into this box. I'll post requested segments of the file, though.
In order to emerge wine, I had to update xorg-x11. After having updated it and all the packages on which it is dependent, it would not work. I re-emerged nvidia-legacy-drivers, but it resulted in different nvidia kernel and nvidia driver versions, which would not work. I recompiled my kernel in order to ensure that the nvidia kernel would also be updated, and this is no longer a problem. Now, whenever I try to startx or run xdm, it results in it only going as far as the nvidia logo, then crashing with these abnormal messages:
