xorg.conf doesn't load new changes

Hi,

I have modified my xorg.conf file so that I can have sidescroll on my touch pad for my laptop.

I restarted X, and it works. The problem is that every time I reboot, the scroll doesn't work, as if I never modified the file. But when I restart X with Ctrl-Alt-Backspace, it actually works again.

Does anyone have any suggestions for this?

Thanks in advance.

Check /var/log/Xorg.0.log to see if the correct xorg.conf file is loaded the first time.

If it is, restart X like you did and, check the current log file and the previous one to find differences.

That is, the current log file should be from your correct working X, the previous one the log file from the fresh restart and the incorrect working X.
