im starting this thread mainly because i wanted to know if its better to run beryl with no xgl or aiglx and run beryl with my nvidia drivers. i dont know if his is better/faster than the rest could someone give me a brief explanation please. sorry for the stupidity im new ad looked around but just found that all are . thanks in advance
I just used it with the Nvidia driver because it cut out a step (installing xgl or configuring X to use xgl/aiglx). So I can't really talk about what is better performance wise.
I have a GeForce4 Ti4200, opensuse 10.2 and the most stable solution is XGL with beryl. AIGLX and nvidia AIGLX both crashed after about 10 minutes of use. XGL is much more stable, though without full 3d acceleration for opengl applications (games, celestia, google earth).
