XGL and KDE - Switch User restarts X server

Hi.

I recently installed XGL and everything is working fine, except for 2 things.

The first is 3D gaming. I can get these to work if I disable all effects through the XGL control panel, but cannot run all the eye candy and a 3D game at the same time. (This is not the end of the world, as I can live without TuxRacer!)

The second, and more important issue (to me) is that I have is that I only seem to be able to run 1 X-session at a time while using XGL. if I choose 'Switch User' from the kicker menu, I get logged out instead of being given a new session on TTY8. Again, the issue can be solved by disabling all effects through the XGL control panel, but I would like to have 2 XGL sessions running simultaneously. Even 1 XGL session and one standard KDE session would do fine!

Edit: After a reboot (No configuration changes), I am able to run 1 XGL session and one non-XGL session together. However, the non-XGL session on TTY8 is painfully slow to draw anything to the screen. Is there any way to either force the second session to XGL or to speed up the session on TTY8?

Any pointers gratefully recieved....

For the XGL issues, google search for "xgl+opengl+games". There results show that there are a lot of articles that deal with this issue, so hopefully you will find something that will help you resolve your problem.
