xfce4-popup-applicationsmenu only open menu for panel on one display.

I use NVIDIA drivers to run two monitors as separate X sessions and each has its own XFCE4 desktop with a panel at the top.
I have bound the Windows key to xfce4-popup-applicationsmenu. This works, but no matter which display the mouse is on it only ever opens the menu on my left hand display.
I've a feeling that this is probably a limitation of my setup but it would be great if either the menu on the desktop with focus opened or I could assign each menu its own key press.
I have tried using
Code:
DISPLAY=":0.0" xfce4-popup-applicationsmenu
and
Code:
DISPLAY=":0.1" xfce4-popup-applicationsmenu
but they both open the menu on the panel on my first display. I've changed the numbers for 0.2, 1.1, 1.0 and so on also but they either open on the first panel or give me the usual "Cannot open display".
Has anyone any other ideas?
